Online Handwriting Recognition System for Indian Languages (OHWR) – sponsored by Ministry Of
Communication And Information Technology, Nov 2006 to Oct 2008.
The project is to develop handwriting recognition engines for Devanagari, Bangla, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam scripts and demonstrate one or more prototype applications on Tablet PC or on a tablet connected to a regular PC or on a PDA.
Robust Document Analysis and OCR system for Tamil & Kannada– sponsored by Government of
India, Jan 2007 to Dec 2008.
Automated Book Reader for the Visually challenged – sponsored by Ministry of Social Justice and 
Empowerment, May 2007 to April 2009.
Extraction of Fields from Document Images - company sponsored, Jan 2007 to Dec 2008.
There are three modules to the project. The first module involves seal detection and information extraction. In the second module, key-word detection and field information retrieval from the OCR output of the document images. In the third and final module, input documents are classified into forms and non-forms.
